Ad Hoc General Assembly of the Director-General

The Ad Hoc General Assembly is intended to give delegates a unique and exciting experience while sticking to the principles of a General Assembly. The committee type and topic will remain secret until the background guide is released shortly before the conference.

This is an advanced committee. We highly recommend that delegates have experience competing on general assembly committees on the collegiate circuit before competing on the ChoMUN Ad Hoc General Assembly.

This is a single delegate committee. There are no position papers required.

helen wei

Chair

Helen is a fourth-year Biology and Public Policy major and is excited to chair this committee! She is *actually* from Chicago and is always open to giving restaurant recommendations (including explaining her hot take about why deep dish is not good). In the past, Helen served as the Chair for the Large GA committee, The Inaugural International Summit on Journalists’ Rights, as well as the Chair for the UNSC. Helen also competes on UChicago’s travel MUN team and is the COO for MUNUC, UChicago’s conference for high school students. Outside of MUN, she is the President of Bridge to College, an organization on campus that makes applying to college more accessible for Chicago Public School students and conducts research at a cancer biology lab on campus. In her free time (or when she’s procrastinating on her work), Helen can be found binging reality TV on Netflix, cooking new foods for her food instagram, or watching improv shows with her friends.

If you have any questions about the committee, MUN, or how to make a bomb kimchi fried rice, feel free to email Helen at helenweia@uchicago.edu.

kallie hoffman

Chair

Kallie is a fourth-year pursuing a joint BA/MA in the social sciences with a specialization in history and is excited to chair this fun, new Adhoc GA at ChoMUN XXVII. Kallie is from New York but has spent the school year and many summers gallivanting around Chicago, hitting all of the hottest spots in town (so feel free to reach out for recs). In the past, she served as the Chair for Pitch Perfect: The 1994 Major League Baseball Committee, as well as a Moderator for the International Bioethics Committee in 2022. She is also the USG of ECOSOC committees for MUNUC, UChicago’s conference for high school students. Outside of MUN, Kallie is the editor-in-chief for the Bite culinary magazine and blog (uchicagobite.com), the treasurer for the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, and a member of the Alpha Omicron sorority. In her free time, Kallie enjoys being weirdly passionate about her IM soccer team, trying new restaurants in downtown Chicago, binge-watching romantic comedies, and spending time with her friends and family.

If you have any questions about the committee, MUN, or anything general about UChicago, do not hesitate to reach out to Kallie at kalliehoffman@uchicago.edu.
