D’Jhanir harris SMith

Chair

D’Jhanir is a third-year Economics and Public Policy Major from our very own nation’s capital.

Prior to this ChoMUN session, D’Jhanir has been very active in MUN-related activities for his college career through competing on the UChicago Team and being a Crisis Director for the All’s Well that Ends Wells Fargo committee.

D’Jhanir believes that to truly indulge in the MUNiverse you must experience both sides of committee, so he is exploring a different avenue of MUN by chairing for the first time. Outside of MUN, you can catch D’Jhanir in all things Nintendo and music, as he dedicates a lot of his time smashing his friends with some sweet sweet Kendrick Lamar in the background.

As always, D’Jhanir is excited to see how Shaka Zulu will survive the 4 day April experience, and if delegates will give him the thumbs up or the thumbs down.

Mitchell hanson

Crisis Director

Mitchell is a third-year economics and data science major hailing from Burr Ridge, an Illinois suburb that’s close enough for him to say he’s from Chicago when people ask, but far enough that people who are actually from Chicago will get mad at him for saying so. In MUN, Mitchell was an assistant chair for the Sally Sells Seashells Phoenician commerce committee at CHOMUN XXVII, and he looks forward to taking his wealth of experience at CHOMUN XXVIII.

Outside of MUN, he is the treasurer of Kababayan, UChicago’s Filipino-American student organization (Kumusta!), and a co-founder of Derivatives of Data Science, a student organization made by and for students who want their resume to look more legit.

In his free time, Mitchell tries his best to see as many movies as possible, occasionally rock climbs, and plays a lot of Tetris. He is very excited to see how delegates engage with the life of Shaka Zulu and is looking forward to the weekend!

If you want to reach out to Mitchell about anything, feel free to contact him at mitchellh@uchicago.edu.

Isaac Yoo

CRISIS DIRECTOR

Isaac is a third-year at the college majoring in History and Economics, hailing from Dallas, Texas (or close enough). Within MUN, Isaac has served as an Assistant Chair for Run it Back Turbo at ChoMUN XXVI, and as the Chair for Sally Sells Seashells at ChoMUN XXVII (try saying that five times fast). He is also the co-founder of the very legitimate organization, Derivatives of Data Science, alongside his good friend Mitchell.

Additionally, Isaac chairs UChicago's high school MUN conference, MUNUC, while his free time includes watching live sports (football, basketball, hockey, baseball, etc) and listening to rock music. He is incredibly excited to see how the delegates navigate the tumultuous reign of Shaka Zulu and cannot wait for ChoMUN XXVIII to commence.

Feel free to reach out to Isaac at isaacyoo@uchicago.edu.
