Slam Dunk! Queens of the Court: WNBA, 2025

Caitlyn Clark sinks her very first WBNA three-pointer from the far right three-point line, defending her title as one of the most exciting rookies by finishing with 20 points. 2025 is, undoubtedly, the biggest year for the WNBA as skilled players such as Aliyah Boston and Nika Muhl have joined their team’s roster after their college career. For the first time in history, the women’s basketball sports leagues have captured the attention of basketball fans from all over the world. Nonetheless, the WNBA continues to face the challenges of financial instability, the changes in public opinion, and most critically, overcoming the barriers facing women’s sports as a whole.

As delegates, you have the unique opportunity to shape the future of women's basketball and create a lasting impact on the lives of athletes, fans, and communities worldwide. Through thoughtful debate, collaboration, and resolution-building, we can develop actionable plans to support the WNBA's growth, empower its players, and ensure that the league remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come.

Emma Tung

Chair

Emma is a third year in the College majoring in Psychology, minoring in Neuroscience and Health & Society, finally succeeding in choosing her major. Emma was born in San Francisco, California, living most of her life in the Bay Area before moving to boarding school in Boston, Massachusetts. Throughout high school, Emma competed in Model UN even with a fear of public speaking. She finally conquered that fear as senior president of her boarding school and with her multiple attempts at speeches in MUN.

Emma co-chaired in frontroom and backroom for the crisis committee on Bega Cheese at CHOMUN XXVI and was an assistant chair for MUNUC on the Haitian Cabinet of Florvil Hyppolite. Last year, she chaired the Upside Foods Board of Directors for CHOMUN and OPEC in MUNUC as well. This year, she serves as the Under Secretary General for Regional Bodies of MUNUC 37. Outside of Model UN, Emma loves to play tennis, rock climb, eat lots of food (literally anything in front of her), and dance to K-pop.

kevin Gu

Prior, he served as an assistant chair for the Cabinet of Florvil Hyppolite (Haiti) and as chair for OPEC at UChicago's high school conference, as well as assistant chair for Bega Cheese Board of Directors and crisis director for Upside Foods Board of Directors for ChoMUN. In his free time, Kevin enjoys playing basketball, eating good food, and playing more video games than is probably beneficial for his academic career.
